Bf-109 at Freeman Field

This is FE-496, a Bf-109G-6. It is currently fully restored and on display at the National Air & Space Museum.

The paint was stripped off in order to study and teach German construction techniques. The aircraft is sitting low because the main undercarriage oleos have been "emptied". The markings have been re-applied without reference to German documents for display purposes.
